Tomorrow I have my mid-year review. I'm not worried about the review at all, because I'm a freakin' star at work (pats self on back). But my review is the forum I decided to drop the bombshell on my boss of my intentions to Move back to Montana.
Laying out my intricately layed out plan to set up shop in one of our trucking terminals and work remotely with the Chicago office.
Sounds crazy, huh. Leaving the city of possibilities to a really small city that's somewhat depressed (economically). Leaving the cushy office of cubicles and offices to work in the bad part of Billings (near the tracks) surrounded by diesel fuel, dirt and grime and folks that actually work hard for a living.
But it needs to be done. I've lived in Billings about a decade ago, but I have many connections and friends their... And to boot I would only be about a 3 hour drive back to my folks' farm. Since my father is very close to retirement (and not in the best health) I figure I need to be back.
So hopefully starts another new phase of the life of a goat... Just gotta see how my review goes, and hope to hell I don't get fired on the spot for wanting to jet... Well If it doesn't pan out, then I'll be forced to play the waiting game and job search to see what type of job I could find in Montana. (other than farming for the time being).
Wish me luck, as I'll need it.
