the clare voyants, city of chicago (live from o'conners pub)

with a little over a week left in chicago, and putting the final touches on packing, i thought this video i took at o'conners pub in phoenix a number of years ago was a fitting farewall to chicago.

come to think of it, i believe i took this video about a week before i moved to chicago from scottsdale. too funny... is this what you call irony? no seriousely... is it?

well a week of closing the books. turning off cable, transfering electricity and trying to negotiate with my landlord on what to do with my apartment.

it's bad timing really that i'm moving now as i still have about 5 or six months left on my lease; and i have been unsuccessful in trying to sublet it out. (not for a lack of trying). so... not sure what i'm going to do. guess i'm left in the mercy of my landlord. but i've pretty much came to the conclusion that i'm only going to pay out the month of march as well as forfeit my deposit.

if he sues me, then he sues me... i guess i won't worry about that obstacle until i have to cross it.

so in about 11 days, i hit the road for Portland. With a stop in Eastern Montana to visit my folks and some friends and then the treacherous winter drive through the bozeman pass and finally to portland (actually oregon city) to unload, unpack and start my life over once again (albeit same job, same company).

One thing that I realized during my 2 years in Chicago, is that I really hate living in large metro areas. I need to live in rural areas or small cities and I think that is what oregon will provide...

here's to hopin'...
