chinese dentistry part 2

last tuesday, got another tooth pulled.
Went to the grocery store tonight, and ran into this guy signing autographs. sweet. i ran home and found his rookie card and had him sign it.
had my annual review today. it went ok. it went so good, they're shipping me out to portland with the hippies and the democrats.

speaking of portland, i'm almost packed up. christ, you never know how much shit you have until you try to cram everything into boxes. luckily the owner of the ups store is a good guy and keeps giving me free boxes; which is a good thing, because boxes are way to overpriced.

my tooth got so bad, it got really infected and i had to postpone my trip up to green bay in an attempt to go to the nfc championship game. i'm pretty sure i wouldn't have gotten into the game, but looks like i missed my change to make it to lambeau. oh, well, sounds like a trip for next year. anyways, my tooth got so infected that i got a really high fever and had to take a few days off from work. it kind of felt like i got hit by a bat alongside my noggin. i guess the tooth rests right up against a sinus cavity, and that got infected to or maybe just the nerve (not sure) but during the 3 days i was holed up in my bed i really started to trip out and have really crazy dreams.

Not all it was that coherent, but i kept dreaming/hallucinating that i was running through the forest with a bunch of people i grew up with and we kept kind of losing our minds. Well, we kept forgetting stuff and only remembering the last few minutes or so... i'm not certain how that even works, but believe me it was pretty messed up.

another one i had was where i saw something steak across the sky, (i'm guessing a meteorite or comet or something) and everyone on earth lost their hearing. all i remember is running toward some large city (maybe chicago or new york) and being very scared. i think i had that one because i had just seen cloverfield.

but the most fucked up one was where i found myself back in my highschool cafeteria and waiting in line at the lunch counter waiting for peggy cansfield to scoop me up some mashed potatoes. all i really remember is she slopped some on my plate along with some corn and gravy and then gave me some boiled potatoes and told me that i had to mash the rest up myself.

my god... i think i'm going nutso...

Well my fever finally broke a few days later and i went to the dentist and he labeled my tooth as grossly decayed. although he said he could save the tooth and do a root canal, i wasn't about to spend $1,500 when I can spend $300 to $400 to get it pulled.

In 3 months I've had 2 teeth pulled; 1 resulting from a broken jaw about 9 years ago and another from drinking way too much mt. dew and smoking too many damn cigarettes and probably not flossing...

I just hope in the future, they can clone teeth, so I can replace the ones i lost and may still lose. i just don't want to look like a total hillbilly, although it can be argued that i already am. Screw you Dootch!!

Well, better get going. got a busy day tomorrow of more packing and cleaning and trying to stay out of the emergency room, dentist office or not get sick. (I turned 30 this year and basically fell apart) Good thing I have health insurance.

27 days left in chicago and freezing my ass off in arctic weather.

You don't have to floss your teeth. you only need to floss the teeth that you want to keep. - Dr. Prince (my old orthodontist)

a little under a month left in chicago....

It's about 20 below zero, still packing up my apartment, trying to find someone to sublet my apartment.

Oh yea, I had an infection that laid me up in bed last week for about 4 days and fer fucks sake, I have to get another freakin' tooth pulled on Tuesday. Pretty soon I'll have more fingers than teeth left at this rate.

Remember kids, don't smoke, don't get into fights and get a broken jaw and most importantly stay away from Mt. Dew, it rots your teeth out.

So what's been goin on.... hmmm...

like i said, still packing up my apartment. got my place in portland secured. been training pretty intensely for my new job duties. got my moving trailer secured.

and lastly have been trying to sublet my apartment so I don't get stuck with paying double rent. Might have someone who will take over my lease, but it means that I'll have to be out of the apartment by Feb. 1.

That gives me 20 days to figure out where I'm going to spend my last days in chicago.

maybe I can stay with the family that moves into my place. This seems pretty awkward, as I really don't know them that well.

maybe I can sleep in my apartments laundery basement without getting caught, but this seems like a pretty stupid idea.

or I find a cheap ass crack-whore hotel to live. Not too wild about that one either, as the last cheap hotel i stayed at was a hostel down in miami beach and i swear to god i got bed bugs. (gross)

or I break down and ask one of my coworkers if I can crash on their couch for about 3 weeks. This is probably my best alternative, but I hate imposing on people

or I say ufck it and move 2 weeks earlier than I planned so I don't have to live in a goddamn shelter. It's too freakin' cold right now.

I saw cloverfield last night and it was ok. made me motion sick.

Was trying to get playoff tickets to the NFC championship game in Green Bay this weekend and this will probably be the last time I have the chance to make it up to mecca, but bailed because of my freakin tooth and i need to save my money for my move.

well, that's the low down skinney from here..

keep on keepin' on.

goodbye chicago

goodbye chicago

The Nomadic Tribe of Goatopolis must move on....

On Westward, Ho!!! To the land of trees and hippies we go....

Things are moving much to fast right now; My March 2008 move to Portland has been pushed up to January and I'm a bit unprepared and scrambling to figure out where to start.

So much to do and so little time to do it in...

  • Step 1: Find Housing near Clackamas.
  • Step 2: Determine how I'm going to move my belongings back across the country within a meager budget. (Uhaul Vs. Moving Company)
  • Step 3: Tie up loose ends in Chicago.
  • Step 4: ??? - Not sure quite yet, haven't gotten that far yet

If anyone know of any housing opportunities in the Portland area for rent or lease (2 Bedroom House / Apartment / Condo / Townhouse), please let me know...

It's funny as I find the saying, "Be careful what you ask for, as you just might get it" quite relevant right not...

More to come...

whose child is this

remember this holiday season that it isn't always about PS3's, Nintendo's and iPod's and how much you can spoil your kids...

remember the less fortunate... the truly in need... the poor and impoverished.

remember the humanity of the season...

oregon trail

day 5: welcome to oregon (stateline)

Looks like I may be hitting the road again... Well, maybe.

I suppose that I'd better not get my hopes up too high. Since my Montana move was squashed with the utmost certainty...

But with the dingy taste of hopelessness and despair, comes a glimmer of unexpected sunshine...

Shall I say goodbye to the towering inferno of the Sears Tower, the Lincoln Park Artsy socialites or even my cherised Polandia neighborhood that I now call home?

Say Adieu to the many drunken rides home on the El Train or perchance lose the chance to once again get lost driving around Chicago and land in Ghettos-Ville (Lawndale)with a kayak strapped to my pickup?

Reflection of the past 2 years... Ahhhh, where did the time go. I can't believe it's almost December...

How can I forget about getting mugged down at McCormick Place at the Auto Show by a bum who serenaded me and my girlfriend at the time with "You're Beautiful" (whomever sings this damn song needs to be shot).

Or the girl that tried to get me to join that fucking cult "Quixstar".

diagram of a cult (also known as quixtar or amway)

Which reminds me, I still have a Purple Bike to give away. Seriously, I'll drop it off at your house (even if you live in Georgia, I'd drop it off for ya) -- Let me know.

the pimpin' purple bike

Well anyways... Like I said, I'm not going to get my hopes up too high this time. All I'm going to say is that it looks very promising that I'll be an Oregonian come 2008.

More to Come...

furniture

couch

wheelin' and dealin' and trying to sell some of my furniture in storage to some and Indians (with a dot) gentleman. so far i have him interested in my couch (or is it sofa?) and my ikea coffee table.

woke up early this morning and moved all of my furniture from my office and bedroom into my living room. got home this afternoon and moved it all back.

i've went on a streak of 13 days of not eating meat. only noodles. I didn't mean to; it just sort of happened. (kinda weird)

i'm planning on moving early next year. not really sure where to yet, but unfortunately it won't be montana. i've narrowed it down to tucson, so. cal and the pacific northwest. But am leaning toward the pacific northwest. I think i have nomadic attention deficit disorder.

my mailman is really pissed off at me right now. i think i need to get him a gift to smooth things over.

i just remembered that i haven't paid a parking ticket i got about a month ago. hope i don't get a boot put on my pickup.

a little over a week and i'll be in SoCal riding dune buggies at the Glamis sand dunes and eating turkey. fuck me, i love thanksgiving.

i had an idea this week from a dream i had about a new project i want to start up.

i think this winter, i'll try relaunching goatopolis. all i've had are ideas up the ying yang this summer, but no time to work on. with it getting cold again, i'll try to revive the old site again.

things left to do this week:
  1. email my cousin's husband in iraq.
  2. send off my parking ticket money to the city of chicago
  3. pick up a gift basket for my mailman.
  4. pick up 2 bottle of vodka and send them to my buddy dave in phoenix. i forgot to get him a wedding gift.
  5. move my couch/sofa and coffee table to my indian buddies place.
  6. go have coffee in evanston.
  7. check out jobs in in portland and seattle.
  8. call an ex-girlfriend.
  9. oh yea, and get laid. (or try at least)

remember kiddos. Say No to Scientology.

random thoughts

winter is coming

the time changed yesterday, which threw me for a loop today.

i like chuck and heroes but am really waiting for battlestar galactica and venture bros.

things from the past always seem to come to bite me in the ass later.

i'm really sick of doctor's and dentists.

gall bladders and an abscess eye tooth; ha! who needs them.

if i didn't have insurance i would be currently homeless.

online dating is weird. i'm not really certain that there is someone out there for everyone, but i'm hoping.

maybe it would be cheaper to invest in hookers. i've never paid for it, but i did watch pretty woman and look how well that turned out for richard gere. hmmmm.....

people for the most part are a common being regardless if they are from another country or not.

i get my hair cut by hot polish girls, i live near the airport and i am helping a guy from india find a car and furniture.

public transportation is very convenient, if not necessary in chicago.

went on a blind date downtown this weekend. went good. but i've been wrong before.

i really enjoy irish pubs.

bought plane tickets to california; gonna check out glamis and the sand dunes.

remember that one movie with dennis quaid where he is a golden gloves boxer and he has a song stuck in his head; he keeps getting his ass kicked in the ring as he's trying to come up with the tune until finally he has an epiphany and wins the golden gloves championship?

i really relate to that movie, but i just can't come up with the fucking tune. it's really holding me back.

my uncle keeps trying to convert me to the lord. but what if i am the lord?

i also relate to dean venture sometimes; although i'm not a clone (or at least i don't think so)

i missed my buddy dave's wedding in phoenix this summer and he's pissed at me.

i did go to my friend kim's wedding in minnesota this summer.

somethings are better left unsaid.

i think a lot about my ex-girlfriend. this is so wrong.

rarely is the grass greener on the other side of the fence; if it is then you always have to give something up when you go over the fence.

nothing's perfect.

except the lord.

which i think is probably me.

amen.

he is iron man

holy jeez.... this looks freakin' awesome!

Friday, September 14, 2007

I just got back from my weekend booze fest in Mankato, Minnesota for my friend (from Phoenix), Kim, wedding, and then made a jaunt north to a small town called Montgomery to crash the opening day football bbq of another of my buddy's from Phoenix (dootch) family.

A lot of boozin' and food coupled with endless driving finally took it's toll on my ol' gall bladder and this tuesday, I had a severe attack and ended up driving myself to the emergency room in the middle of the night to go get it checked out.

Thinking it was food poisoning, indigestion, gas or some sort of blockage, I was very hesitant to go to the emergency room. But I'm glad I did as the next day, I had emergency surgery to have my infected gall bladder removed..

gall bladder surgery (9/12/07)

Pretty disgusting if you ask me... Those yellow raspberry things are actually gall stones. (apparently there were about a dozen in there when they removed it).

iv's for fluid intake and pain medication (9/12/07)

I'm still kinda medicated at this point, but had my phone on me and decided to take a pic of my iv'd arm. (9/12/07)

gall bladder removed via laparoscopic cholecystectomy (9/13/07)

Taken the day after my surgery (9/13/07), the surgeons performed a laparoscopic cholecystectomy which is noted by the 4 incisions. This procedure is apparently the least invasive and apparently they use a laser to cut the gall bladder out.

So I am taking the rest of the week off and part of next to recuperate. (Basically Sleep and sleep some more).

this is for Amy or Amanda

i so want to be a hippy...

make sure to remove you phone # from skype, else Amy or Amanda will give you a call. But hell, she looks lot a hottie to me (see comment). I guess who can complain about those types of crank calls, eh?

good times...
